Endwalker’s release is just around the corner, and many players are scratching off last-minute goals from their Shadowbringers bucket list before the new expansion: clearing Palace of the Dead, obtaining every gwiber, or just running Pagl’than for that one single piece of glamour gear (no matter how many times it takes). Over at Aetherflow Media, though, we’re already looking forward—not only to all the new content we’re bringing our readers, but also to all the new content Endwalker is bringing us!
So as a welcome back to Aetherflow Media and in anticipation of Endwalker, I asked the AFM staff what they’re most looking forward to with the new expansion, and the variety of answers—given our personal areas of interests and expertise—should come as no surprise. There’s always something new for every player to enjoy in a new expansion, and we at AFM are sure that Endwalker will not disappoint.
A’onisya Dehf (Writer: Curiosities of Cosplay, Artist Spotlight): The story is always the biggest draw for me! The love and care the writers put into XIV’s story is what got me hooked on the game, so it’s no surprise that this is what I always come back for. That being said, as a summoner main… you can bet I’ll be exploring my class first thing when I log in on early access day. And if I’m putting off MSQ for learning a job rotation, you know I’m super excited about it.
Tetemui Temui (Writer: Joy of the Culinarian): I’m really excited how the main story will end and what the new main story will be! Apart from that, I’ve been anticipating healer changes for quite a while now and hope the pure/barrier healer separation will spell something new (and finally exciting?) for us main healers.
Amaeris Karaslin (Writer: Excerpts from Stannequinard’s Research Journal): While I adore the story and characters, which are what drew me into XIV in the first place, I’m most excited for the lore. As someone who does a lot of roleplaying, both in and out of game, I’m always trying to dig up every little bit of information I can. Thavnair and Garlemald, especially, are places I just cannot wait to learn more about. And aside from bunny boys, I’m also looking forward to potentially more Nero content.

Mio Ryota (Reviewer): I’m mainly looking forward to the new raids. It’s been a long time since the last ones were released, and I can’t wait to progress and figure out the upcoming Savage and Ultimate fights.
Ameme Ame’klin (WordPress Wrangler): IS HYDAELYN EVIL. WHEN DO I PUNCH FOURCHENAULT. HOW ARE WE GETTING TO THE MOON. ARE THERE SHOEBILLS ON THE MOON. WHO IS THE SHOEBILL. CAN I ANNOY HADES ONE LAST TIME. Can’t wait to finally delete Zenos for real this time!!! ALSO!! FELLEST CLEEEEEEAAAAAAVVVVEEE
Lolae Demort (Lead Designer): I’d love to see Ameme calm down. Aside from that, Ishgard Housing and the reaper job are dreams come true. My goth little heart is about to explode!
Minnie Cay (Writer and Reviewer Supervisor): I have been saying “MOOOOOOON” at regular intervals since we found out about 6.0. I am fascinated by space irl so I’m pretty excited to go to the moon.
Soll’a Neron (Photographer): I think the thing I’m most excited for is the bard changes. Hopefully they will fix my baby. I want to go back to bard, please SE, let me have this. Oh that and the moon is pretty cool too I guess. 🙂
Tylp Usugurai (Podcast): A little disappointed dragoons didn’t get a pet but REALLY EXCITED for the dragoon changes and the new lands we get to visit! The dev team that works on the environment textures exceeded my expectations with the Shadowbringers zones. I cannot wait to see what Endwalker zones look like!
Skrully Matsuyama (Social Media): EVERYBODY PACK YOUR BAGS, AND BUCKLE IN!!! WE’RE GOING TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON—oh, and I suppose reaper is pretty nifty too, can’t wait to play that in raids. I’m really digging the aesthetics for that job… and well, it’s taking me away from bard and machinist for the expac I’m hoping.
Arya Thorne (Editor in Chief): Oh my goodness there are so many things I’m excited for. New lore, story, job changes, dungeons, primals… December 7th can’t come soon enough!! I am always so excited for new armor and locations. I’m a bit of a screenshot addict so having new locations to shoot will be so fun! I will also be going into Endwalker as an astrologian. I never thought I would be an astro main much less have a healer even levelled, but here we are! I am also so thrilled to hear the Endwalker soundtrack. The Shadowbringers OST was incredible and I am eagerly waiting to hear what Soken has come up with for this expansion.
